(Tabebuia serratifolia)

The tahuari is a timber tree in the Peruvian Amazon, reaching grow up to 30 meters in height. Its wood is of very good quality, hard and heavy.
Research conducted in the bark of the plant, led to the discovery of a substance known today as Lapachol (naphtoquinona), which has excellent pharmacological properties, which include the ability to inhibit and slow the growth of malignant tumors.
